Have you ever wondered if you should leave a comment on a blog you consider interesting or useful?  Let me assure you, the answer is yes.  Respectful, well-thought out comments are always welcome.

A blog is a social medium, not a static website.  It takes time and involves a certain amount of risk (we all worry about making complete and utter fools of ourselves).  If I wanted to write fiction all day with no link to the outside world, I wouldn’t be sharing with you now.

Without the encouragement from visitors to the site, I would probably have quit and never looked back.  So, believe me, comments are crucial.

Underneath this post is an area for visitors to leave a comment.  If you have something to share, or just want to offer your encouragement, feel free.  Your comment will not only be appreciated, but I’ll get back to you.  I promise.

If you want to go the extra mile, there are two other ways to participate in a blog.  You can “Like” me on Facebook (There’s a place to do so in my website footer) or you can Subscribe to my blog updates.

To Subscribe, again go to the footer at the bottom of my website.  There you’ll be a box with room for your email address above the word “subscribe.”  Simply enter your email and hit subscribe.  Warning:  This means future posts will be sent to you via email.  If you’re already getting more email than you can possible read, decline this option.

I hope I’ll have something to say that will enrich your life, or at the very least, provide food for thought.

Former middle school teacher, Margaret Duarte, lives on a California dairy farm with a herd of “happy cows,” a constant reminder that the greenest pastures lie closest to home.     Blogging is a commitment, so when you get responses you know it was well worth it. I have to admit sometimes I visit blogs and don't comment, but more recently I've tried to be better about. Even a little, "great post" is nice.
