Ho’ opononopo / Ancient Huna Forgiveness

March 28, 2011 by Margaret Duarte

Have you ever heard of Ho’ opononopo?

I hadn’t until last Tuesday night in Janet Conner’s Plug-In class.

As Janet explains in Her Plug In PlayBook, Ho’ opononopo is the ancient Huna Hawaiian forgiveness practice to “set right,” release karma, and cut any cords of pain of debt with ancestors.

Which for me translates to:  a forgiveness prayer that helps align our mind and spirit so we can be the best we can be.

The prayer is so simple that at first I had a hard time believing it could accomplish anything.

ut according to Ihalekala Hew Len co-author of Zero Limits, the object of Ho’oponopono is getting to the “state of Zero.”

I’m sorry; Please forgive me; I love you; Thank you

Somehow and for some reason, this forgiveness practice has the power to cleanse and heal whatever needs its energy, though the person repeating the prayer may not be consciously aware of what that need is.The subconscious, however, supposedly knows and “gets it.”

If you believe in the healing power of prayer, you’ll enjoy the following  video.

As always, thanks for stopping by,

That is incredibly simple and yet deeply profound at the same time! Thanks for sharing it!

Hi Lisa. As I said, this mantra sounded too simple to me at first, but now I find myself saying it over and over throughout the day, and it helps me feel better, as if I'm actually doing something to right the wrongs in my own life and in the world.

Those four statements give me goosebumps (what my sister calls Godbumps).

Hi Orea. And yet they're so simple. The more I repeat them, the more I like them, and the more I feel that maybe they are making a difference in a world that needs prayer.

Such fantastic and soulful advise. Mantra's are something I've always had trouble with, but working on it. I want to be more positive about life, and let those little things that nag me go. Because they become big things very easily.
I like Godbumps, that's very cool.

Hi Lee. I'm warming up to mantras, now that I'm beginning to understand their purpose. Anything that helps bypass the monkey mind, that wants to analyze every detail, and helps me access my inner self, which knows what to do, is heartily welcome.
